Buyers Market of American Craft (BMAC) is held twice a year at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in downtown Philadelphia. The winter show is in mid-February and the summer show is in early August. The work must all be designed and produced by the artist. Most of the work show here falls into the "contemporary" range of craft. This show does a good job of keeping out imports and buy/sell. The BMAC is produced by The Rosen Group, 3000 Chestnut Avenue, Suite 300, Baltimore, MD 21211, www.americancraft.com. Heritage Market of American Crafts is held twice a year (February and June) in Valley Forge. The work is mostly "traditional/folk art" and there is an attempt to keep out imports. B>Heritage Cash and Carry Wholesale Markets are held throughout the year at various locations in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Ohio, and Indiana. They are one-day shows and tend to be low-end, production traditional craft. They can be very lucrative if you have a low-price-point item that you can produce in large quantities. Heritage Markets, P.O. Box 389, Carlisle, PA 17013, (717) 249-9404, FAX (717) 258-0265. email: hertmarket@aol.com, www.heritagemarkets.com Market Square is held twice a year in the Valley Forge area. There is also a smaller New England show held in Marlborough, MA. The New England shows are usually a week or two later than the Valley Forge shows. Market Square is comprised of three separate shows: the Gallery of American Craft, the original Market Square, and the Buyers Cash and Carry. The three shows run concurrently, but usually in separate venues. They do allow imports and manufactured items in the Market Square section of the show. The work at these shows falls into the "traditional/folk art" category. Market Square, P.O. Box 899, Mechanicsburg PA 17055.
